Six state ministers were inducted in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's cabinet today, within 18 days into her government's assuming of office following a landslide victory in the December 29 national elections.
The new state ministers are Abdul Mannan Khan, Quamrul Islam, Shahjahan Miah, Shamsul Haque Tuku, Motahar Hossain and Jahangir Kabir Nanak.
The portfolios of the new state ministers were not distributed immediately.
President Iajuddin Ahmed administered their oath of office in a simple ceremony at Bangabhaban around 7 in the evening.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, president-nominee Zillur Rahman, Cabinet ministers and high civil and military officials were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
With the swearing-in of the new six state ministers, the numbers of the cabinet members rise to 38.
