Professor Rafiqullah Khan from the
Department of Bengali, at Dhaka University, in an interview with VOA Bangla
analyzes the evolution of Bengali Language, the changes which are taking place
and he expresses his deep concern against the lack of discipline in Bengali
Language as it is being used these days.
Professor Khan talks about some of the changes taking place in Bengali language, particularly in spoken Bengali , and questions its durability and universality .
He also says that the media , in particular the printed media, have a role to play in shaping the language.He also warns against following the style of language, while speaking, that is usually used by newspapers these days.
