Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dipu Moni in her first press conference, in the backdrop of repeated alarm by other government top officials regarding the chances of militant attack, said that she does not see 'militancy' as a threat to Bangladesh's image abroad. She said but if the situation deteriorates further it will be a challenge for the country's image.
Foreign Minister left for Malaysia on to attend a 3-day general assembly of Malaysia's ruling party and establish relations between two new governments in Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur.
Dr. Dipu Moni told the journalists that she will represent Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the state function.
She said that her visit is aimed at establishing relations between the new governments in Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur.
But on the sideline, the Bangladeshi minister will take up with Malaysian leaders the issue of 55,000 Bangladesh workers who got calling visas but were recently denied access to get their jobs in Malaysia.
