Dr M Zahir says that the present conflict between the Parliamentary Committee of Bangladesh parliament and the Anti -Corruption Commission is unfortunate and needs to be resolved immediately. In an exclusive interview with VOA Banga Service , he suggests that this can be resolve if President asks Supreme Court to give clarification on this issue.
Dr Zahir, who is an eminent jurist in Bangladesh says that the parliament in Bangladesh is sovereign but one has to see whether they have passed any law which would allow the committee to summon Chairman and Members of Anti Corruption Commission. Barrister Zahir , however , says that ACC is not a constitutional body like Election Commission , it is a body formed by law . He also says that there must be accountability for this commission about their work over the last two years.
In answer to another question about the lease on opposition leader Khaleda Zia 's Cantonment House , Barrister Zahir says that the conditions of lease needs to be seen for legal reason . He, however, says that moral ground favors Khaleda Zia's vacating the possession on that large house because the circumstances have changed since she was given this house.
