Former Indian cricket captain, Sourav Ganguly has lost captaincy of the Kolkata Knight Riders team for the 20-20 IPL cricket tournament. The tournament which is being held in South Africa, has sent shock waves in Calcutta cricketing fraternity. Many fear, Ganguly will be dropped from the playing eleven shortly.
Kolkata Knight Riders coach John Buchanan has reportedly decided that former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will not be the captain of the IPL franchisee in their first match of the IPL tournament on April 18. Buchanan has reportedly opted for destructive Kiwi Keeper batsman Brendon McCullum.
Buchanan had earlier removed Ganguly as the sole leader at KKR in March causing causing protests in Kolkata. However , the team owner Shahrukh Khan has said that Dada will continue to remain the main man in the team. However , this latest development has raised eyebrows in Kolkata’s cricketing circles.
