Dr. Zillur Rahman Khan, Rosebush Professor Emeritus - University of Wisconsin, USA and an eminent political scientist. says that President Barack Obama’s 4th of June Speech to the Muslims around the world depictsthe possibility of a fundamental change in the US foreign policy. Professor Khan says that if Obama can turn his thoughts into actions evenpartly , he will remain immortal in the history like former Presidents Jefferson and Lincoln.
He also says that he can see the resolution of the Middle East Conflict in the light of what Obama said on his 4th of June Speech. The fact that he stressed on stopping the expansion of Israeli settlement is very significant.He believes that extremist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah could be effectively contained if the vision of President Obama is eventually materialized
He is optimistic about Obama’s ability to resolve the Middle East Crisis through dialogue in spite of the fact that the odds against him cannot be ignored. He has takenthe greatest challenge of resolving this issue right in the beginning of his term . If he is successful , thechange will bring the difference .
