Habiba Chowdhury is the Chief Coordinator of a Dhaka-based think tank: the Institute of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
In this interview with VOA Bangla Service, Habiba Chowdhury speaks about the objectives and activities of the Institute. She said that the Institute's work involves a number of projects where the religious ideology of the Prophet of Islam is related to the pragmatic needs of our society, both in the context of Bangladesh and the global community.
Habiba Chowdhury was recently in Washington D.C. to attend a seminar sponsored by the World Bank for civil societies. In this exclusive interview, Chowdhury speaks on the Institute's research on using the Zakat Fund towards poverty alleviation in Bangladesh. She also expresses concern about global climate change and seeks to meet these and other challenges through inter-faith dialogue. The Institute has held a number of inter-faith programs in Bangladesh where they invited representatives from all the major religious groups of Bangladesh.
