At least one woman died and two women were injured when a train hit a bus at the city's Moghbazar level-crossing Wednesday.The train damaged three private cars and a public bus which led to these fatalities.
Quoting witnesses, police said that the accident occurred at about 5pm when the Baha-durabad Ghat-bound train hit the bus that eventually dashed three nearby cars because the gatemen could not close the iron bar in time due to the heavy traffic jam.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. One woman who has been identified as Kolpona Mollah, died immediately as the bus fell upon her car.
