Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the fourth federal budget of
his career in Parliament on Monday.
India is targeting a 9% GDP growth through government spending on
infrastructure (some Rs. 100,000 crore) and social programs such as a
rural employment program.
Despite concerns of large fiscal deficit, the Minister asserts that
stimulating growth is the main priority, followed by broad development
initiatives in an “inclusive growth” model.
