Former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam arrived in Dhaka yesterday afternoon for his three-day visit to Bangladesh.
Dr. Kalam paid a visit to the Mirpur Grameen headquarters of Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. The pair discussed details about implementing micro-credit in the President's foundation in India as well as water-resource management between Bangladesh and India.
Former President Kalam spoke at the convocation ceremony for the first class of the University of Information Technology and Sciences along with President Zillur Rahman and is scheduled to visit the Viqarunnisa Noon School and College to interact with the students and faculty members there.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also hosted a welcome dinner for the former President at her official residence in Jamuna.
