Longest Solar Eclipse in 100 Years Casts Shadow Over Asia


The longest solar eclipse in the last hundred years took place from Asia to India took place on Wednesday. The eclipse lasted as long as 6 minutes in several parts of Asia.

An eclipse is when the moon covers the sun entirely and casts a shadow on earth.

In Bangladesh, thousands gathered to watch the eclipse. They were reactions of both emotion and fear and as soon as the sun came up again, people cheered.

The eclipse moved from north to east covering India, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China.

For many people, the eclipse translates into a spiritual experience and for others, mush superstition is attached to the event
