The Bangladesh Government will seek the advice of Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin regarding the trial of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) mutineers.
Law Minister Shafique Ahmed made the announcement Monday that the Supreme Court will be consulted on whether the alleged mutineers should be tried under civilian or military law.
The Court will also be asked for its opinion on how the trial can be conducted fairly and efficiently.
Section 106 of the Bangladesh constitution allows the President to seek the opinion of the Supreme Court on any issue.
The request will be sent to the Chief Justice next week.
