Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expanded her council of ministers. She added a minister and five state ministers, and reshuffled10 council portfolios.
With the new additions, the number of ministers in the almost seven-month old council rose to 43, comprising the PM, 24 ministers, and 18 state ministers.
Ruling Awami League lawmaker Shajahan Khan, who had been working as the chief of a parliamentary committee before his new assignment, was sworn in as a minister, while Awami League lawmakers Promod Mankin, Mujibur Rahman Fakir, Mahbubur Rahman, Enamul Haque and Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury were appointed as state ministers.
President Zillur Rahman administered the oath of office in a ceremony in Bangabhaban.
