President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said, changes were made
inside the government and her party so that old and new leadership could put
joint efforts to build a science and technology based Sonar Bangla as dreamt by
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"Those who will march forward with principle and ideology and above all with sacrificing mentality will be able to give something better to the nation and stand rising their heads," she said while inaugurating a blood donation program here.
Bangladesh Krishak League organised the program at the Bangabandhu Museum premises at Dhanmondi-32 in the capital marking the National Mourning Day.
Describing agriculture as the main driving force of the country's economy, she asked the leaders and workers of Krishak League to extend their all out cooperation and support to the millions of farmers for achieving their economic emancipation.
In this context, the Prime Minister laid emphasis on setting up agro-based and food processing industries across the country and install modern equipment in the country's vital agri-sector that contributes significantly to the GDP. Mentioning the post independent government of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Hasina said, Bangabandhu took a number of initiatives for the development of the country's agri-sector as he knew that agriculture is the life line of the country's economy.
