Awami League
President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said, changes were made
inside the government and her party so that old and new leadership could put
joint efforts to build a science and technology based Sonar Bangla as dreamt by
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"Those who will march
forward with principle and ideology and above all with sacrificing mentality
will be able to give something better to the nation and stand rising their
heads," she said while inaugurating a blood donation program here.
Bangladesh Krishak League
organised the program at the Bangabandhu Museum premises at Dhanmondi-32 in the
capital marking the National Mourning Day.
Describing agriculture as the
main driving force of the country's economy, she asked the leaders and workers
of Krishak League to extend their all out cooperation and support to the
millions of farmers for achieving their economic emancipation.
In this context, the Prime
Minister laid emphasis on setting up agro-based and food processing industries
across the country and install modern equipment in the country's vital
agri-sector that contributes significantly to the GDP. Mentioning the post
independent government of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman, Sheikh Hasina said, Bangabandhu took a number of initiatives for the
development of the country's agri-sector as he knew that agriculture is the
life line of the country's economy.
