BNP secretary general Khandker Delwar Hossain on Wednesday said that the present government was following a discriminatory policy towards the cases lodged against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, her son Tarique Rahman and other BNP leaders during the rule of the military-backed caretaker government.
"The way they (ruling Awami League party) are withdrawing cases (of their own leaders) is entirely discriminatory. We demand that the government should withdraw the cases against all political parties, which was filed during the tenure of the caretaker government," Delwar said after laying wreaths and offering prayers at the grave of the late president Ziaur Rahman in observance of 31st founding anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal.
In response to a question on the acceptance of charge sheet of Zia Orphanage Trust case at metropolitan session judge’s court this week, the BNP leader said though Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rhamna’s cases are politically motivated, the government didn’t withdraw them
