The civil secretariat - the headquarters of the Tripura administration since 1838 has been shifted to the newly constructed complex on Agartala’s outskirts from its present home in the royal palace.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inaugurated the sprawling four-storey, 270-room civil secretariat building at Khejur Bagan, 9 km north of the state capital.
The towering, earthquake proof new civil secretariat - the biggest in eastern India - was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.2 billion.
