The Pilkhana mutiny trial will begin at Durbar Hall in Dhaka on Tuesday.
A special court has been set up to try the mutineers of Bangladesh Border Security Force (BDR) who killed 57 army officers and held their families hostage on the 25th
of February last year. The Pilkhana mutineers killed over 70 people altogether during this mutiny. BDR camps all around the country faced rebellion.
BDR Director Major General Mainul Islam will lead the Special Court-5 set up under the Bangladesh Rifles Order-1972. Six special courts have been formed by the government to try 35,00 border guards who were accused in about 40 cases in connection to the mutiny.
