On Tuesday, Ashraf Qureshi, the Pakistan High Commissioner said that Pakistan will not interfere with the war crimes trial in Bangladesh.
The government of Bangladesh has been trying to bring the suspected criminals of the liberation war of Bangladesh to justice. Ashraf Qureshi met with Shafiq Ahmed, law minister of Bangladesh and after the meeting he said that Pakistan honors Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty. This issue is an internal affair of Bangladesh, and so Pakistan will not interfere.
Ashraf Qureshi also said “The Pakistan government has no comment on the trial”. And Shafiq Ahmed confirmed this stance of Pakistan.
