Leader of the Opposition and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday asked the lawyers and countrymen to take preparation for a tough movement to relieve the people from the government's misrule.
The former prime minister said the ruling Government could not be given any more time as it has failed to do anything for the people's welfare even after getting 16 months.
Addressing a lawyers' grand conference at the Supreme Court premises, Khaleda Zia said she would announce program of strong movement from the Dhaka grand rally to be held on May 19. "If the government create impediment to the program, then its consequences will be more grave and complicated," she warned.
Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum organized the conference with its founding president veteran lawyer Justice TH Khan in the chair. Thousands of lawyers from across the country took part in the conference.
Leaders of the forum's district units urged Khaleda Zia to announce strong movement program against the government's misrule and declared themselves prepared to make any kind of program announced by her successful.
The former prime minister said there was no alternative to mass-movement to protect the people's rights and the country's interest from the government's injustice, misrule and autocracy.
