The state government will challenge in Calcutta High Court the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission’s announcement of common rate of power tariff for domestic and commercial consumers in the CESC area and abolition of cross-subsidy, even as industrialists welcomed it. The state power minister Mr Mrinal Banerjee said in the Assembly that Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee wrote to Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee today, seeking his intervention in the issue.
