Two different groups of lawyers , held rally today in the supreme court premises, each blaming the other for the present crisisis in the court which began when government refused to give permanent appointments to six of the eoight new judges of supreme court. The lawyers belonging to the opposition group , led by the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association , accuses the government of partisanship and interfering in the judiciary. They are demanding judiciary to be free from the executive.
The government supported group of lawyers , led by the General Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association , on the other hand blames the opposition for the chaos. Both groups demand the independence of judiciary.
