A People's Convention in Kolkata , the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal, has called for boycotting American goods. Although the convention was largely organised by the leftists in the state , it was attended by writers , artists, journalists and people from various professions. The speakers felt that goods like coke , pepsi , nike shoes should be boycotted. The decision for the boycott has not yet been given a formal shape by the ruling party. In the meantime Citi Bank in Kolkata has been attacked and retailers have been refusing to sell coke and pepsi , atleast for the time being.
