In Dhaka, Bangladesh, a dawn to dusk strike brought life to a virtual standstill. The main opposition party, Awami League called the strike. There were clashes between police and leaders and activists of the Awami League. Many people were injured including former minister and party Presidium Member Motia Chowdhury.
