Thousands of Bangladeshis have attended a funeral for an opposition Member of Parliament killed by gunmen during a rally outside the capital, Dhaka. Authorities say Ahsanullah Master, a lawmaker from the opposition Awami League, suffered multiple bullet wounds when unidentified gunmen opened fire during a rally on Friday. He later died in a hospital. After the funeral Mr. Master's body was taken for burial to his home village in Tongi. Violence was reported. Angry protesters vandalized over 100 vehicles in Gulistan and adjoining areas after the namaz-e-janaza of the lawmaker at Paltan Maidan. Police patrol has increased.
