As the nation mourned the death anniversary of the founding father of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman , the main opposition party called a half-day general strike to press forth the demand for the trial of her killers and to re-declare 15th August as a National Holiday.It may be mentioned here that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the present opposition leader Sheikh Hasina , was killed along with many members of his family when a handful of low ranking army officer staged a coup in 1975.
