2 Car Bombings in Iraq Kill at Least 8 - 2004-11-03

Insurgents in Iraq have killed at least eight people in car bomb attacks on a government building and Iraqi security forces, and separate attacks shut down exports on northern oil pipelines.

A car bomb outside the Ministry of Education in Baghdad killed six people and injured several others. A second blast hit an Iraqi National Guard patrol in the northern city of Mosul, killing two guardsmen.

Near the oil hub of Kirkuk, saboteurs carried out a series of attacks on vital pipelines, setting off huge fires that officials say will halt northern oil exports for at least 10 days.
